Welcome to Aquafusion

Aquafusion offers high quality educational training courses in West Yorkshire leading to valuable and nationally recognised qualifications.  We give you the knowledge, ability and motivation to enable you to deliver safe, effective community-based exercise sessions during and after pregnancy.

About
Aquafusion

Aquafusion was developed in the early 1980s by Christine.  When she found out she was pregnant with twins she was unable to find exercises and pregnancy classes.  She approached physiotherapists and midwives and together they developed a programme of Aquanatal courses. This successful programme is now recognised in the UK and Europe and was endorsed by the Royal College of Midwives.

These community led programmes enable midwives and fitness professionals to outreach to members of the community to help and encourage them to adopt a healthier lifestyle during and after pregnancy. Looking to the Future

From January 2022 we are handing over the reins of this part of our business to renowned Pilates trainer Graeme Baxter with whom we have worked for 30 years.

Fitness and sport have always been a  huge part of Graeme’s life. He originally trained to become a  personal trainer, firstly completing the Diploma in Health and Fitness at London Central YMCA, followed by other courses including Adapting for Older Adults, Adapting for Pregnancy, Nutrition, Advanced Matwork Pilates & Diagnostic Pilates.  His success in Personal Training led him to diversify and he undertook the Diploma in Teaching  Pilates with Modern Pilates. Graeme was so inspired by the tutors and their professional, friendly approach he was motivated to complete his teaching and assessing qualifications. He is an NVQ TDLB Assessor with CYQ in Modern Pilates.  Graeme still runs his own personal training consultancy as well as tutoring for Modern Pilates and other organisations.

As Graeme has been working closely alongside Christine and her team for over 30 years it seems only natural that he will continue our great work under his own banner.
